Gears of War Judgment Review | The Controller Online

Added: 19.03.2013 20:18 | 18 views | 0 comments

Scott from The Controller Online writes: "For many of us, Gears of War served to welcome us to the Xbox 360 platform, being one of the biggest titles to hit the console after its inaugural year. With the release of Gears of War 3 I felt that the series had reached its pinnacle by finally finding its place on the multiplayer side of things, and setting a new standard for co-op play. What I didnt expect, was that there would be a new game coming to the series so soon after GoW 3, and after designer, Cliff Blezinski, left Epic Games, but here we are. This time, People Can Fly are in pilots seat and its time to see if they can live up the Gears of War standard. You might say, its time for them to face their Judgment."

Gears of War Judgment Review (TheHDRoom)

TheHDRoom: "While blasting through the Gears of War Judgment campaign I recalled a small art book that Microsoft's PR folks passed along prior to delivering the original Gears of War game for review. I couldn't tell you what pile of stuff the book is buried under now, yet its message about creating beauty out of chaos and destruction has never rung more true. Gears of War Judgment has a lot going for it other than the best looking crumbling city and particle dust effects this side of Xbox 360. It's the first game in the franchise to mess with the "cogs" in the wheel, to take chances rather than embrace the franchise's status quo. Though officially a prequel and not a reboot, there's freshness to its narrative and design disobedience, possible hints of where the franchise might be headed in the next generation."

Gears of War Judgment review - MMGN

Added: 18.03.2013 23:18 | 20 views | 0 comments

MMGN: Gears of War Judgment is, simply put, a Gears of War game and a fitting end to the Xbox 360s generation. It goes back to retell a story that isnt all that important, but does so by sprucing up the gameplay with a tense pace and a rankings system that forces you to rethink your strategy in an arcade mission structure. Its repetitive and arguably the least memorable of the heralded Gears of War series, but with a fun approach and engaging multiplayer, Judgment manages to make the fourth game in a trilogy an essential binding force.

Our Gears of War: Judgment review - what do you want to know?

The Locust are on the march - ready your question-cannons.
Review code for People Can Fly's Fenix-less prequel Gears of War: Judgment has arrived, and it has fallen to yours truly to lay a review and score upon its grotesquely wrinkled pate. Like a squad of COG roughnecks on a reconnaissance mission, my hands, eyes and brain are now exploring the game's brutish immensity. But where should they head first? And what critical tactics should they employ? That, my friend, is up to you.
